NEWS

Here is the current RucKuS that's going on the RoofTops of this place. (yeah, I know it was corny.)

12/24/04 - I'm bored. So I was thinking to myself, what can I do to alleviate this? I know. I'll just go update ruckus' website, since I have the password and nothing better to do. So I was looking at the old news entries, by people who are no longer in the band, (cough, cough. FATHEAD! cough, cough.) and I thought it might be fun to do an update old school style, with random ramblings about things in no way related to the band. Then I said to myself, "Self, that's a terrible idea." So, we're recording in 6 days, practices have been going well, and we're all looking forward to some music that will hopefully be mixed well enough to make us sound halfway decent. And it's Christmas in half an hour, so Merry Christmas to all you peoples out there. Have an apurty gudt one. --Dave "The bonemeister" K.

11/15/04 - So, I was sitting here in HTML when BAM. I made a bit of a mistake. I was trying to fix the pictures link, which ultimately resulted in me obliterating Dave Nutting from the picture. But I did manage to get Jp's pics back up there (even though they're huge) and I updated a bunch of other crap too. Just thought I would let you guys know. Oh, and if anyone has pictures, send them to me and I'll get them up. I think. - Tom

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10/19/04 - Hey guys, it's Tom here. I would say that I am allowed to update the page now, but in reality, I remembered that I knew the password and decided to assert my new-remembered powers of passwords. So, with that not making sense, let me tell you with what's goin down in Stoughton - Fred's in Worcester, Adam's in Framingham, and Dave's in Kalamazoo. Which means that the rest of us are sitting around waiting for them to come home. Maybe a CD during winter break? Or the Stoughton Music Department Talent show? I forgot what I was going to say, and this may just be the most pointless update in the news section ever. -Tom

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5/10/04-Oh man it's been a while! However, we are back and ready to go. With this being my last week at school and Dave's return just around the corner, RoofTop RucKuS will be in full swing by mid June and ready to play any shows you're willing to give us. If you are interested in booking us for a show, e-mail shoeglue128737@hotmail.com with the heading "gig" and we'll get back to you ASAP. In the meantime, check us out on the bostonbands.com website! Later everyone! -Adam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10/1/03-Yo yo yo, all the party people in the place to be. I'm just testing to see if this works, because I have been newly given the power to tool with the site. That being said, I believe we're waiting to hear back from Thin Lizzy to see if they'd let us use their song on the demo and such. I could pretend to write some more news, but I don't really know what's going on, so it would be mostly just fabrications of my imagination. Ok, have a nice Day! -Dave "G.D." K.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9/10/03-What's this you've heard about a RoofTop RucKuS CD? That's right boys and girls! When Dave K. returns during winter break we will begin recording a little demo/cd for all you little kiddies out there! It will contain NUMEROUS amounts of our own songs and maybe a cover or two. In order to hear us play covers of your favorite songs, you'll have to see us live, because we have to pay to put a cover on a cd, and unless we charge our fans, we can't afford to do so. So don't just sit there! Go try and get us a gig so you can see us at our best, breaking guitar strings and rockin' out!!! -adam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6/01/03-Palladium pics up!!! Online for the first time since I've been out of school, I think it's time to update everything. The pictures up so far from the Palladium gig are taken by Liz Lefebvre, thanks Liz! I would also like to thank everyone else that helped us with that gig, either buying tickets, providing rides, or just being there for us in general, thank you all!! -adam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4/9/03- Well, I'm starting to fix the site up a bit, if you couldn't tell. Hey, let me know if you guys really want the floating heads thingy, cause it's eating up a TON of space, especially with the blue buttons menu that was up for a while. So, if you guys want them, I'll jsut go through them and try to clean it up a bit so we still have space on this server for them. Oh yeah, I put the new link to download the talent show on, so it will go faster for you slow computer people. -adam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/21/03- I fixed the Goddamn site, now stop your yappin'. ::shakes fist:: -Dave

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/11/03- Hey Hey!!! It's about time this place was updated, sorry if it's confusing to read, Dave N. is a tool and likes to change the design of sites and not know what he's doing so the entire place is a mess and there's all sorts of stupid things on here that shouldn't be, plus, he made all these tables with dreamweaver, which aren't really tables, so they aren't lining up correctly. Anywho, did you know that RoofTop RucKuS is no longer a cover band? THAT'S RIGHT! WE HAVE A SONG!!!!!! It's titled "One of Our Own" and it rocks! We're polishing it up, and waitng to hear from Brendon for some words, but other than that, it's great! We just need fathead to get off his lazy ass and do some practicing now...that means NOW dave! Get off the internet, don't answer back on the guestbook, just get your sax and play the damn thing! Bastage(copyright Fred V.)...... -Adam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1/28/03-It's new news for the news section!!! I actually have no band related news to put up here, except for the fact I think this is the longest we've gone without a practice. Anywho, I think we have an oppurtunity to make a demo for free, so that'll be fun, and some song ideas are being tossed around, so that'll be fun when we get to play them for all five of our fans...My parents, Fred's parents...uhhh...uhhh..a fifth......and TOOTS!!!! There's five whole fans of ours, so ha, you didn't think we had that many, did ya?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/03/02-Wow, over a year with the page and the band hasn't broken up yet, knock on wood. Anywho, just updating from school, we've been invited to alot of shows now, but practices are tough to set up so all these shows are being questionable. I need to replace the switchboard on my amp, so that's gonna be tough, I tried to sauder it back to working condition, but only shocked myself.....multiple times, and have no feeling in my fingers, well, a little feeling, it's kinda tingly, like when you sleep on your hand and then freak out cause you think that you might have completley cut off the circula....HEY! I'm talking here!!! You pay attention when I have something to say! Are you listen? Do I have to repeat mysel...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11/25/02-Hey Hey Hey!!! The Framingham gig was odd, but the people liked it, and we have been invited to Battle of the bands in December in Framingham again, so who knows, there might be a RucKuS going on there, and we've also been invited to Scotchtoberfest in August, thanks to friend called Trevor, other than that, we're just enjoying some time apart, until next time, may the force be with you...but not too much, you can go blind from doing that...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11/7/02-News update, the gig on the 19 of November is almost positive, but it starts at 7:00 p.m., so the band will be getting ready, so if you want to go, let us know, as of right now, we have decided to make a song for the gig, but aren't sure if it'll happen, more to come later...oh by the way, forget ningas, click here! if you want REAL fun!!! (I have to give Klipp credit for showing me this)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9/27/02Yeah, it's Dave... Uh,random news time. I've put alot of thought in this, and I decided to change my name to an unpronouncable symbol that looks like this: ~!!~^^%....So from now on, you can just call me "That asshole who changed his name to some stupid symbol." Or "fathead" always works too. Seriously, you know how college is where you can start anew and make yourself seem cool? Well, so much for that dream. My new email adress at Northeastern is dnut@ccs.neu.com....Somebody up there really hates me.Oh yeah, we're pracicing again, and will hopefully have our new kickass songs ready for the next talent show. A new singer(maybe) great songs(but arn't they all?) and more of Fred's sexy body....things are looking up for the ruckus makers on the rooftops of stoughtugal..[editor's note-The rest of this idiot's rambling was cut off and he was promptly shipped back to scotland]

7/17/02 So then I says to the guy...oh wait, bad timing. Hey everyone, Adam's back and ready to turn this place into a whole big stinky pile of fun! Not only will things be updated soon, the band WILL get together, practice, come up with some material, and maybe even throw a show. That's right little groupies, you get to see Fred's sexy body on stage! So, for encouragement, we're gonna need all of YOUR help to try to get us shows, parctice times, and sex. Oh, did I type that last one? Where's the delete button on this thing?...Stupid computers, ah, there we go, Alt + F4--

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6/03/02 Hey everyone, sorry if people were offended, I was really bored, Tom hope you see this... well anyways check out a band call Jetavana Grove, one of the members is a good friend of mine and an insane drummer, i don't know how to make links so just copy and paste... www.jetavanagrove.nu

5/14/02 Alright! So unless you are blind, you can tell that we went back to our original look since everyone hated my idea.(On a related note, if you ARE blind, how did you get here?) I also started to add some new stuff to the site, such as pictures. Well, sorta-you'll have to find out for yourself. Oh yeah, and pretty soon that useless white lettering on the menu to your left is going to start working, and it's going to take you to some pretty cool stuff(Peanut butter jelly time?) Until then.....go outside or something; get a tan.

4/14/02Dave here with the semi-weekly update. Well, I got the site working again after about a week, and it has a brand new spiffy look thanks to yours truly.(You can send all hate mail to: shoeglue128737@hotmail.com hahaha) Seriously, if you don't like it,we can change the interface again.I just wanted to try something new. Oh yeah, and we found a place that sells the Dumb and Dumber tuxes.....very nice. I wanna start a poll on who should wear what color-orange or powder blue. Leave it in the guest book biatches.

4/01/02Adam here. I am taking back the website, so now neither Klipp nor Dave can attack each other through the actual page, only the guestbook. Video to soon be up. Pictures hopefully will be up soon, if we ever take any. Practices will be starting up again, and shows will be announced, check them often for new stuff. See yas!

3/31/02Dave again. Hey, guys, I have a really great idea. I'm gonna start making decisions with only 4 of the other 5 members of the band, and only have that other band member know through random postings on our website. So, let's try this system out:I'm gonna announce a random show...let's say....this friday, and only have Fred find out in the off chance that he reads this post. Then when he does find out, we're gonna cancel the show the day before, and NOT tell him again-isn't that great? Only REAL bands do this stuff right? Go to 2 feet tall's website for more on this amazing new developement in band communication. And tell Adam if they have a show coming up too if you get the chance ;)

3/23/02- Seeing as our friendly neighborhood Adam Blye is WAY too trusting, he gave ME, Dave Nutting, the password to the site. ::insert evil laughter::Seeing as we are front page news now(see the Stoughton Buzz for more), I feel that we should sell out and become something more trendy. So here was my thought-we love chicks, and chicks love emo.(I'm generalizing here, so don't get too excited there 2 feet tall). So, if we played emo, maybe chicks would love us too!I'm thinking of changing our name to something fresh, something cool. I heard Holding Caulfield is available.....Seriously though, we'd like suggestions for a new song for the Battle of the Bands, so all of you faithful fans(all 5 of you) need to put your ideas in our guestbook. Later biatches.

3/10/02- Alright! The talent show went through great! Our new trumpet player, Brendon Ferarri (sorry if I misspelled it)was fabulous, especially with only a week to learn everything. We opened the night and did so with a great entrance. We started playing Nirvana's smells like teen spirit, but Dave Nutting interupted and we then conversed about why people should be over his death. Then we went into the Kids Aren't Alright. After that, we discussed the roles of the other bands in the talent show, then played Beer by Reel Big Fish. Soon, we will have a group photo and maybe the video of the show. See yas!

12/21/01- Hey! Practice happened on Wednesday, and the horns weren't there, but that's okay. I think it was probably better, cause Fred, J.P. and I could get the timings of the songs down better, like the never ending riff at the end of Spiderwebs. Soon, pictures will be developed and posted, so stay tuned! After practice, we went to Andy's, as always, and posted a piece of paper with our band name on it. It has this sweet elephant in polka-dotted boxer-shorts on it, so check it out. Until next week, see yas!

12/7/01- I updated Fred's info, and hopefully everyone else will send their stuff, also. Nick still hasn't made a practice yet, so if he doesn't show soon, I think we might have to do without him. Some one said they would play, but I think they were joking, oh well. If you really do want to play with us, just let a person of the band know and we'll check you and see if you are good enough. i also hate Dave Nutting at the moment, now that I am reminded, but he has figured out the notes for the Kid's Aren't Alright, so at least he's learning stuff for the band. Anywho, I don't want to turn this into a diary or anything, but why do people bring up the past when it's bad? I know I don't want to be reminded of bad events that happened, yet people (like Dave) just have to bring them up. If you have any comments, please sign the guestbook. You know what? Sign it anyways, please? No one comes to this stupid site.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11/29/01- Well, here's a low down of what's going on. At the mean time, all of us are getting along, and having a great time screwing around in the basement. We have the songs "Spiderwebs" by No Doubt, and "The Kid's Aren't Alright" by the Offspring pinned down pretty well. I can't wait to work on Soul Man, the Blues Brothers version, and we have been able to bang out "Beer" by Reel Big Fish fairly easy. Practices are getting better, and the trips to Andy's food mart colder, but still just as fun. So....see yas later! Updated the bios today and it' is on dave yes chronic says it's on.
